Dr. Shane Taylor is ACOS Chief of Dental Services at the Montana VA HCS. As a practicing dentist, his skills include; Implant placement, Oral Surgery, fixed and removable Prosthodontics, Endodontics, Periodontics, Orthodontics and all aspects of Restorative dentistry. He also works closely with the medical team with coordinated care with those veterans suffering from Sleep related disorders.

As ACOS, he  works closely with the Chief of Staff, and serves as interim COS when needed. His duties also include; voting member of the Medical Executive Board, voting member of the Credentialing and Privileging board and Peer Review committee, along with all other tasks assigned by the COS.

Dr. Taylor served as simultaneous Dental Chief at both the Montana VA HCS and the Sheridan VA HCS from 2015 to 2021, where he served all of northern Wyoming and all of Montana.

Prior to joining the VA, Dr. Taylor was in private practice for over 18 years with dental offices located in both Utah and Nevada. He earned his dental degree from the University of Oklahoma and did a one year GPR program at the Portland Oregon VA Medical Center.

 Dr. Taylor is a combat veteran and has achieved the ranks of Sergeant(E-5) and LTC in the United Stated Army reserves and has served in locations such as Peru, Korea, Germany, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
